Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have a Barney the dinosaur costume available?
No.  Due to legal, trademark, copyright and possible misuse reasons, nobody is allowed to own an adult sized Barney costume.

Where you you get these costumes?
The licensed character are all from overseas.  After USD to ZAR conversion plus shipping fee plus insurance, the costumes cost quite a lot.  Once the costumes arrive in South Africa, customs will add 40% to that total price.

Can you send the costume to me and I will send it back later?
No, too risky, too expensive, and the time factor has too many unknowns, and during the time of transportation, someone else might want the costume.
If you really insist on it, you will have to pay for shipment to and from your location, plus an extra insurance rate and the rate for the costume(s) per full day (including travel time), payment for rental will have to be in advance.

Can you sponsor a few costumes for an event?
Depends on the event and what organisation you belong to.

Would you be willing to sell your costumes?
No, most costumes cost a bit less than or more than 300 Rand (sometimes even 400 or more), add to that the shipping costs, bank charges, customs expenses and the long wait to get them.  The longest waiting period from ordering a costume to actually receiving it has been six months.
Unless a costume is marked for sale, it is not for sale.
If you are looking for a specific costume to buy, let me know to check if arrangements can be made.

What is involved when ordering costumes from overseas?
When ordering two or three costumes at a price of between 300 and 600 Rand per piece, there is still the shipping costs, plus insurance, which both at the lowest price are nearly double the price of the costumes ordered.  Once the package has finally arrived here in South Africa (usually from the U.S.A., Canada or Europe), there is the customs bill which tends to be 300 Rand, 400 Rand or even more for two or three costumes.

Do you have shoes?
No, keeping multiple shoe sizes per costume takes up a lot of space and is expensive, and also presents a hygiene problem.
