Would you like to dress up as your favourite superhero or Star Wars character? You have come to the right place.
Superhero costumes are hard to find, but they are always easily recognised.
BKE Costume Rental specialises in particular on Superhero as well as a few Star Wars characters with other costumes on the side.
For costume parties, birthdays, fancy dress, conventions and processions, buying a costume is not always ideal and it can take a long time to be delivered, this is where renting makes more sense.
When enquiring about renting costumes, please consider the following:
- Which costume do you want to rent?
- What size or age group does that costume have to be?
- How many costumes do you need in total?
- For what date do you need one or more costumes?
- Are you in the Cape Town area? Sending costumes away to another city is expensive, risky and time consuming. Please check in your area first.
- Sometimes you will need days to decide on what to wear, so start looking early at costumes before you need them.
- Negligence while wearing a rented costume will just push up renting fees and lower the quality of costumes for you and others.
Things to keep in mind about costumes:
- Costumes look recognisable in the photo album years later
- Costumes make you visible or less visible in a crowd
- Costumes can change other people's perception about you
- Costumes can conceal you, or show you in a different way
- Costumes are not the same everyday clothing, so they make an impression on other people
- Costumes sometimes bring out parts of your personality that isn't always visible with usually pleasent surprises

Costume Rental News
25 June 2009: Costume upgrade update
Amongst the costumes that were upgraded were both Batgirl costumes where the one belt was gone and the other belt had velcro issues. Additional eyemasks have been made as well.
The Supergirl costumes are getting new belts and the boottops are being replaced with better ones.
The purple dinosaur also got improvements for the feet because that was cumbersoe to wear and the head is being fixed for visibility.
20 June 2009: Various costume upgrades
Various costumes are getting new replacement parts or improvements of existing pieces that are having design flaws, weak points or manufacturing flaws.
21 March 2009: Price changes
Due to the many cases of costumes being returned late and another costume loss, the pricing model has been changed:
Renting fee: 100 Rand
Every additional full day: 50 Rand
Deposit: 200 Rand

Trying on costumes early is recommended
To ensure that you are happy and more importantly comfortable with a chosen costume, it is recommended that after checking availability, that you try several on in order to avoid discomfort during an event. To look at and try on costumes, please make an appointment before coming, preferably the latest a day or two before the time. Costumes can be picked up the day before they are needed and should come back the day after. Please consult the map and satellite photos to find the place, since the road maps do not show the proper information.
The costumes are being rented out from a normal house (home business outside of normal office hours), not a shop. The entrance is to the left of the garage door, in the main house are tenants.
Please communicate before coming to ensure someone is at home. Please do not show up weekdays during the day and expect to find somebody to open up for you.
On weekdays the opening hours are only during the evening! |
